The Cinderella Ballgown*

*Not the ballgown for the titular character but for a random party-goer

Not pictured: the cream-colored faux suede ultimately used for the peplum and lower ruffle
The original concept art for the gown. Obviously made a lot of changes
Pattern for bum roll made from an online tutorial
Made a whole bum roll but ultimately did not use it for the gown
Pattern used for corset top
All of the pieces of the small corset top marked out; two small pieces had to be redone because it turned out it did matter that they were upside down.
All pieces for the small corset top, including corrections.
Outside and lining assembled
Corset, bum roll, and petticoat intended for base of gown
Corset top mostly assembled; the straps had to be adjusted and sewn last as they were attached with ribbons through eyelets in the original pattern.
Pattern used for shirt bodice
This shirt bodice had to be remade because I managed to forget that I almost always need to alter patterns to accommodate my wide chest and shoulders.
Altered pattern pieces for shirt bodice
Pattern used as starting point for sleeves
Altered sleeve pieces to allow greater range of movement with arms and achieve longer cuffs
All the sleeve straps. If they have a proper name please let me know.
Took way too long to figure this out.
Most annoying part of this whole project
Mashed my base corset as flat as I could to trace out the panels to make a cover.
Serged all the pieces together and around the edges to complete the cover and hand-sewed it directly to the corset
Rose-making station. They’re about 50% hot glue
Used thirteen roses total but only have a picture of eleven for some reason
“Butt thing” in progress (don’t know what these are called)
“Butt thing” without padding front
“Butt thing” without padding back
Took a while to get the padding for the “butt thing” right
